Why Showing Up Every Day Matters

As designers, we often look at successful peers and wonder how they achieved their goals overnight. However, the truth is that success rarely happens by chance. It's built through consistency, perseverance, and a willingness to show up every day, even when it feels like no one is watching.


Recently, I had the opportunity to speak with 10 beginner designers, and 5 of them shared a common concern: they were working hard but not seeing immediate results. I've been in their shoes, and I understand the frustration that comes with feeling like progress is slow.


But here's the thing: growth isn't always sexy or immediate. It's often messy, quiet, and slow. However, it's in these moments of slow progress that we're building momentum, learning, and growing.


So, what moves the needle? It's not just about creating great designs; it's about:


  •  Posting consistently, even when you're not sure anyone's watching
  •  Learning strategy and not just focusing on aesthetics
  •  Saying yes to projects that challenge you and help you grow
  •  Choosing clarity over clout and prioritizing meaningful work


It's not luck; it's the power of consistency compounding over time. Every post, every lesson, and every revision stacks up, and if you stay focused on what matters, it will show. Not immediately, but undeniably.


So, keep building, keep showing up, and know that your breakthrough is stacking up. I'm rooting for you, and I'm committed to continuing to learn and grow alongside you.
