Parliament Approves Final Batch of Mahama’s Deputy Ministers

 





Parliament has officially approved the final list of deputy ministers nominated by President John Dramani Mahama, completing the composition of his 60-member ministerial team.


The approved nominees are:
  • Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro, was appointed Deputy Minister for Transport
  • Mr James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North, was appointed Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs
  • Mr Mohammed Adam Sukparu, MP for Sissala West, was appointed Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations
  • Professor Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan, appointed Deputy Minister for Health

The Appointments Committee of Parliament, chaired by Mr Bernard Ahiafor, presented its report on the House floor, noting that each nominee demonstrated competence, professionalism, and readiness during their vetting process held on Friday, July 25, 2025.

“Mr Speaker, the Committee therefore by consensus recommends to the House, the adoption of its report and approval of the nominees for the appointment of deputy ministers,” Mr Ahiafor, who also serves as First Deputy Speaker, stated.

President Mahama emphasized the importance of these appointments, highlighting their role in building a responsive and efficient government capable of delivering on national development goals.



Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister in charge of Government Communications, confirmed that the confirmation of this final batch marks the completion of the President’s ministerial appointments.

With their approval, the deputy ministers are expected to support their respective sector ministers to execute the government’s agenda effectively.
